FSU football is favored to beat the Florida Gators for the fifth straight year according to oddsmakers.

FSU football is having its worst season in the Jimbo Fisher era, but the Florida Gators are in worse shape.

At least FSU can point to having to play a true freshman quarterback that didn’t early enrollee as one of the main reasons for a struggling offense.

The Gators haven’t had an offense in nearly a decade which has seen Jimbo Fisher go 6-1.

Here’s your crazy stat for the day. The Florida Gators have only scored ONE offensive touchdown against Charles Kelly since 2014 and TWO offensive touchdowns total since 2013.

Despite how terrible Florida and FSU football have been this season, some Florida Gator fans still believe they have a shot to win this season. Others are less confident.

We scrolled the message boards over at gatorcountry.com to check their temperature:

Gators Talk

"gator7_5-If I was forced to bet, I’d go with fsu for sure. The offensive td drought streak is alive and well Sunday."

"themistocles-Yes, it’s pretty interesting that a 4-6 ACC FSU team is favored in the First line by 5 away against a 4-6 SEC UF team. Interestingly, this is approximately the same line favoring Alabama at Auburn. Both Florida teams are pretty smashed up. I do, however, think that Gators have a reasonable chance to win this year, 36% seems about accurate."

"GT Gator-They’re favored because they’re 3-3 in their last 6 games and we’re 1-5. I think the 5 points seems like a good line."

"Tolbert1906-As bad as Blackman is at QB, he isn’t Feleipe Franks bad. FSU has a pretty good RB in Akers. Florida’s best RB’s are injured. Our WR’s can’t seem to catch a football (probably because they’re taken by surprise whenever the QB actually throws the ball on target.) FSU’s offense is pretty bad, but I think they’ll move the ball better than we will. They should be able to score some points against our defense, which seems incapable of making tackles. I think FSU opening at -5 sounds about right. Also, FSU held their own against Clemson. They showed some fight. Florida has not shown the same level of grit and determination in games against Georgia and Mizzou. They just quit."

"The_GrayGator-I’d actually say its more like about 52% to 48% in fsu’s favor. If we had a healthy Malik Davis I’d pick UF straight up to win. Although Nuss is a huge weakness for us, the emergeance of Lemmons at RB against UAB gives us a better chance. This is still an fsu team that should have lost to Wake and Duke too imo. Once again, I think our two kickers and RBs will be pivotal in winning this game. Personally, I expect a lower scoring game around 17 to 20 points for both teams."

"OB1-We are definitely in worse shape, and that is before taking the suspensions into account. We will have to play a solid game in all aspects of the game to win, but it is possible. The team looked like they had a good time vs UAB and I think that gave them a boost in spirits. If they can keep from getting in a hole early and play with heart, which I believe they will in the last game of the season at home, they can win this game. I give them a 50/50 shot, it’s all about heart and pride now!"

Thoughts

This game will determine if FSU football keeps their consecutive bowl streak alive, and the players have shown some fight since the Boston College debacle where they quit.

As bad as FSU’s offense has been all season they have been able to run the ball against almost every defense except Clemson(not counting the BC game).

Florida has struggled to defend the run all year giving up an average of 160 yards rushing on the year.

The Gators are ranked No. 63 in S&P defensive rankings and No. 103 in offensive S&P rankings against the No. 26 toughest ranked schedule in the country.
