FSU football coach Jimbo Fisher spoke with media after practice Thursday.

Jimbo Fisher spoke to media in his customary Thursday post-practice time slot and touched on a variety of things.

Fisher seems to be pleased with how practice has gone this week and mentioned the players have had a lot of enthusiasm this week despite the disappointing loss to Clemson.

There was no injury report since the Delaware State game isn’t a conference game.

It was what Fisher didn’t talk about that has people jumping to all sorts of conclusions despite Fisher’s clear history in these situations.

Fisher was asked about the rumors of other colleges pursuing him and Fisher would not comment. Fisher said, “I’m never gonna speak about personnel and I’m never going to speak about jobs.”

The reporter tried to follow with another question and Fisher said, “I’m never gonna speak about jobs and I’m never gonna speak about personnel.”

Fisher’s tone was of a man that indicated he’s said this time and time again in prior instances.

Thoughts

Fisher has been pursued by other universities several times since becoming head coach at FSU. He has never commented on those situations to the media during the season.

So why would he change that stance now?

We have some FSU outlets acting emotional because Fisher hasn’t publicly issued a statement on the matter.

Maybe, just maybe, there’s nothing to issue a statement on?

There are rumors of Texas A&M and others being interested in Jimbo Fisher right? There are also rumors of Jimbo Fisher actively vetting potential coaches to be hired on next years staff at FSU.

I have a question. How could Jimbo Fisher vet potential coaches in good faith, and entertain the possibility of going to Texas A&M or somewhere else at the same time?

No question we’ve seen crazy things happen when it comes to the coaching carousel of college football. However, media outlets criticizing Jimbo Fisher for not speaking on the topic when he’s never done so in the past shows some folk have began to take things personal when it comes to Jimbo Fisher.
