The college football playoff picture is starting to take shape after an exciting week 11. The third week of the committees rankings come out tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN.

This past weekend had some epic games and outcomes that either kept hopes alive or destroyed them. It will be interesting to see what the committee does this week in their college football playoff rankings.

With that being said, lets get to this weeks playoff predictions.

 Zack’s picks

  1. Miami (9-0) – The Hurricanes dismantled the No. 3 Fighting Irish this past weekend and given that, they’re my No. 1 team.
  2. Alabama (10-0) – Saban’s team is dealing with injuries and that showed this past weekend against Mississippi State. The Crimson Tide are looking vulnerable with the Iron Bowl just two weeks out.
  3. Oklahoma (9-1) – The Sooners are gaining 500+ yards nearly every game led by leading Heisman candidate Baker Mayfield.
  4. Clemson (9-1) – Clemson controls their destiny and must remain unbeaten all the way through the ACC championship game against Miami for a spot in the playoffs.

First two out: No. 5 Wisconsin (10-0) and No. 6 Auburn (8-2)

Kelvin’s picks

  1. Alabama-Yup, never moved Georgia in front of them.
  2. Miami-Pains me to put them this high because I feel they are going to get demolished in a game where they don’t get multiple turnovers.  The turnover luck isn’t sustainable.
  3. Oklahoma-Back-to-back wins over top 15 teams and a earlier win over Ohio State have them back in the running.
  4. Clemson-Clemson is limited offensively but have a great defense. They’ve played the No. 5 toughest schedule in the country.

First two out: Wisconsin (Finally played a defeated a ranked team (Iowa) last week. Their soft schedule is biting them in the butt thus far) and Auburn (Huge win over Georgia. In fact it was so big that I couldn’t rank Georgia ahead of Auburn for this spot.)

Jason’s picks

  1. Alabama – A better resume in Tuscaloosa that includes more ranked wins and beating FSU football when  they were a better team.
  2. Miami – Maybe the best two wins in the month of November has South Florida buzzing again.
  3. Wisconsin – The Badgers have done their job and are undefeated yet somehow being talked about being left out of the playoff all together? Another “beauty” of the playoff system.
  4. Oklahoma – Right now, with three wins over top 11 teams their resume is slightly ahead of the ACC’s other option.

First two out: No. 5 Clemson and No. 6 Georgia

Thoughts

So much has happened since the first release of the college football playoff rankings just two weeks ago. Everything is playing itself out and who we think is in this week may not be the case next week. Win and you’re in is the motto for several teams in playoff position.

Notre Dame and the Pac-12 are essentially eliminated from the playoff picture. Notre Dame choosing to not participate in the ACC in only football will ultimately hurt them again and the Pac-12 just simply has no contenders.

The Wisconsin Badgers are the Big Tens only hope of getting one of their teams in the playoffs. To do so Wisconsin will need to win out including a win against Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game.

Assuming Clemson and Miami win out until they meet in Charlotte for the ACC Championship, the winner of that game will be in. Either Alabama, Auburn, or Georgia will make it in depending on which of those three win out including the SEC championship game.
