FSU football seemingly can’t get the offense to feed off the defense and vice versa this season. Would a motivational prop help the team at all?

FSU football has played a great deal of uninspired football this season. They played inspired for the first halves of the Alabama and Miami games and most of the Clemson game.

They seemed motivated against Syracuse after quitting in the second quarter against Boston College (they quit that game I don’t care what anyone says).

For whatever reason the team can’t get it together at the same time. Remember the Miami game? The first half the FSU defense didn’t allow Miami to cross mid-field in the first half but the FSU offense only mustered three first half points.

James Blackman and the offense caught fire in the second half, and the FSU defense couldn’t stop my son’s flag football team from scoring.

There is no swag or confidence from most of the players, however, a former FSU player has a suggestion that could change that. Check out what former five-star defensive lineman Jacobbi McDaniel had to say:

Thoughts

McDaniel is referencing the “Turnover Chain” the Miami Hurricanes are using for ever turnover the defense generates on the season. They’ve forced 24 turnovers this season, tied for fourth in the nation and FSU has forced eight which is good for No. 125 in the nation.

Last season the FSU defense forced 23 turnovers which was good for No. 38 compared to 19 for Miami who checked in at No. 67.

Listen, turnovers are largely based on luck but there’s no denying the Miami players have fully embraced the motivational tool.

I don’t think it’s ghetto as it’s no different that Virginia Tech’s “Lunch Pail” the defense totes around. If the players can come up with a FSU spear or something that will motivate them to play with that type of energy I don’t see why any FSU fan would be against it.

Would you be for or against some type of motivational prop? If for, what would you want it to be?
