FSU football has dealt with Jimbo Fisher leaving rumors the past couple years.

It looks like FSU football fans are not going to get a break from rumors of other schools pursuing Jimbo Fisher any time soon.

Fisher has been a hot commodity for other schools, namely LSU, looking to hiring a head coach capable to changing the culture of a program and restoring it back to elite status.

However, Fisher turned LSU down twice to stay with FSU football, signing a two-year contract extension in December 2016 from a previous 8 year contract signed in December 2014.

Texas was also a school that had Fisher on their radar before deciding to hire Tom Herman.

Now another Texas school could have Fisher in their cross-hairs according to the Tweet below:

The year FSU football has had has a lot of people down on Fisher it seems, but it’s not clear if he’d be willing to move to Texas. It’s definitely going to be hard to get any more money out of FSU after this season and Fisher hitting them for more money when other schools come calling.

Thoughts

It’s not clear if Texas A&M is ready to part ways with current coach Kevin Sumlin, but Fisher has proven he can turn a program around and is still relatively young just turning 52 years old.

They could afford to pay his contract buyout too which is less than 10 million dollars. It pretty much comes down to if Fisher wants to leave Tallahassee after the season the ‘Noles have had.

Fisher does appreciate loyalty and that’s partly what’s wrong with the FSU program at the moment.

There are rumors that he’s already begun the process of finding replacements for several coaching spots on staff. If he’s doing that, how seriously would he entertain Texas A&M pursuing him?

I’d think he’d had to clear the air with potential coaching hires amid these rumors.
