FSU football suffered a loss in a game they were favored to win by double digits.

The FSU football game against NC State was disappointing on several fronts. Obviously, a loss at home as a double-digit betting favorite for the second time in a year isn’t good.

The FSU defense who held Alabama to less than 4.5 yards per play in the season opener looked like they were going through the motions at times.

There were missed tackles, players running open on third and long and costly penalties that kept NC State drives alive(a couple of those penalties were bogus though).

FSU football is 0-2 for the first time since 1989 with some tough games coming up with a true freshman quarterback. That 1989 team proceeded to win their next 10 consecutive games ended the season with a Fiesta Bowl win over No. 6 Nebraska.

Can this 2017 FSU football team win all of their remaining games on their schedule? They are talented enough, but talent alone isn’t going to get it done.

This team will have to play well in all three phases, or at least two of the three for a realistic chance of that happening.

FSU fans are disappointed with the loss, but there are some positive and encouraging signs to take away from the NC State game.
