College Football Betting: Chop Chat’s top 5 bets of week 4
By Kelvin Hunt
The college football season is now in full swing, so let’s take a stab at trying to make some money.
We’re back with another addition of Chop Chat’s best college football bets. Last week was our first week back after missing the first week, and I’m proud to report we finished in the black with a 4-1 record overall.
This now puts our overall record at 7-3 after three weeks.
Recap
- Clemson -3 vs. Louisville-Louisville lost a ton on offense as far as receiving threats from last year and their defense isn’t anywhere close to where it has been in years past. Clemson’s offense isn’t what it was with Deshaun Watson, but their defense is legit and defense travels on the road. Win
- Oklahoma St -13 vs. Pittsburgh-Pittsburgh defense is non-existent as it was last year and the loss of their offensive coordinator from last year has been huge. Okie lite should roll here. Win
- Fresno St +33 vs. Washington-I’m going to well again with Fresno State. I think their offense is good enough to keep it closer with Washington…whose defense is a step down from Alabama. Win
- South Carolina -6.5 vs. Kentucky-Kentucky allowed 5 ypp against Eastern Kentucky and the score was 17-16 going into the fourth quarter. South Carolina has looked competent on offense and special teams and defense should be good. Loss
- North Carolina -10 vs. Old Dominion-North Carolina held up pretty well against Lamar Jackson for three-quarters and the offense averaged 6.6 ypp against Louisville. They need a big win after starting the season 0-2 and this Old Dominion team comes at the perfect time. Win

This Week’s Bets
- Florida -1.5 vs. Kentucky-Florida is the more talented team and seems to have found a way to score points on offense late in that Tennessee game.
- Wake Forest -4 vs. Appalachian St-Wake Forest is playing at another level now that teams don’t have their playbook. App St. has turned the ball over more and is the less disciplined team. Plus Wake Forest has been more efficient in the red zone.
- Georgia Tech -8 vs. Pittsburgh-Pittsburgh has no defense and isn’t the most efficient team on offense. They’ll likely have a limited number of drives because GT will possess the ball with their run game.
- TCU vs. Oklahoma State UNDER 71.5-TCU defense is allowing 4.4 yards per play and will likely look to run the ball and play keep away from the potent Oklahoma State offense. The clock will be rolling…
- NC State vs. FSU UNDER 52(Bought to 52)-I don’t think NC State is going to score a ton of points against this FSU defense…FSU will likely try to get ahead with a true freshman QB in his first start and then milk the clock with the run game.
