FSU football was thought to have a tough 2017 schedule, but maybe that’s changing somewhat?
Who knows when FSU football will be back in action with Hurricane Irma still looming. The ‘Noles canceled Saturday’s game against Louisiana-Monroe, and it’s possible the Miami game will have to be rescheduled for next month.
It all depends on how much damage Hurricane Irma leaves in her wake. Nevertheless, there were some football games that took place featuring future FSU football opponents.
The ‘Noles were projected to have a very tough schedule and that’s still the case now that Deondre Francois is out for the season. However, some teams may not be as good as projected after two weeks.
Let’s take a look at the remaining opponents:
- Miami-Didn’t play in week two, but didn’t look dominant against Bethune Cookman in the opener. They have an inexperienced QB that will have problems against FSU.
- NC State-The thought was their defense would be their strength, but they –
- Wake Forest-Wake Forest is vastly less talented that FSU, but this isn’t a bad team. They just rocked Boston College who’s usually sound defensively, forcing four turnovers on defense and scoring 34 points.
- Duke-Like Wake Forest, Duke looks competent this season and beat the brakes off Northwestern Saturday. They have a QB that isn’t bad too.
- Louisville-They still have Lamar Jackson, but they have lost a ton off that team on both sides of the ball. Bottle up Lamar Jackson and FSU wins by double digits.
- Boston College-Boston College is typical Boston College.
- Syracuse-Syracuse just lost to Middle Tennessee State Saturday bro!
- Clemson-Clemson’s offense has definitely taken a step back when they aren’t playing the Kent State’s of the world. Their defense is still very good though.
- Delaware State-You already know this a tune up for Florida.
- Florida-Their offense is still trash and FSU football could shut them out this year.
Thoughts
If Deondre Francois were healthy, I’d have no problem stating I believe FSU goes undefeated the rest of the season. However, now we have a true freshman QB and it’s hard to predict just how well or bad he’ll play without seeing him in action.

I still contend that all he needs to do is be serviceable each week, and FSU has the talent overall to win every game left on the schedule.
