Jacques Patrick should be coming into this season on a mission. He has just 124 career carries after sitting behind Dalvin Cook for the past two season(no shame in that).

However, there were a few times last season where Patrick should have been getting carries and didn’t for whatever reason. He’s the most experienced running back on the roster and will start the season as the presumable starter despite having arguably the most talented stable of teammates in the backfield with him.

Patrick has worked extremely hard in running like the big running back he is, and made strides in attacking with a physical style despite not getting more playing time.

He’s the type of back that run into a pile and fall forward for three or four yards while also being underrated catching the ball out of the backfield.

You won’t mistake him for Dalvin Cook, but he could make the offense more efficient and less boom or bust when it comes to moving the chains. He should also be an effective runner in short yardage situations near the goal line.
