FSU football is predicted by some to have a rematch with Alabama in the CFB playoff – but one site thinks it will take place a game earlier than others.

If you listen to many of the preseason predictions when it comes to the upcoming college football season, FSU football could see some big name opponents twice. The Seminoles are playing Miami in the regular season and the media has voted the two teams to meet again in the ACC Championship Game this December.

At the same time, most insiders believe there is a chance the Seminoles could meet the Alabama Crimson Tide twice during the upcoming season. Once, in the much anticipated opener in just over two weeks in Atlanta, Georgia – and the second in the College Football Playoff, likely in the championship game that will also be played in Atlanta.

Well, one website thinks that the Noles and Bama are destined for that rematch – but just thinks it will take place one game earlier than expected. CBSSports.com‘s Jerry Palm released his bowl predictions for the upcoming season – and thinks FSU Football will play the Crimson Tide in the semifinal game in the Sugar Bowl:

"Sugar Bowl – No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 4 Florida StateRose Bowl – No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 4 USC"

It’s a little weird to try and figure out how the Seminoles are the fourth place team out of that group. In all likelihood, FSU football would be 11-1 in the regular season to get in the running for a top four spot – with that loss likely being to the Crimson Tide, according to experts. Unless Palm is predicting both the Buckeyes and Trojans to go unbeaten, the Noles shouldn’t be lower than third.

Palm also has some familiar faces for FSU football fans in the New Year’s Six bowl games with Florida taking on USF in the Peach Bowl and Clemson facing Penn State in the Orange Bowl. How will this compare with our projections at Chop Chat? You’ll have to wait until August 30th to find out!
