FSU football has a lot of talented players with things to prove in 2017.

FSU football had a somewhat disappointing season in 2016, ending the year with 10 wins and three losses. It was a year where they easily could have gone 11-1 just as easily as 8-5.

However, they did manage to put it together at the end of the season and beat Michigan in the Orange Bowl as seven point underdogs.

That win gave the ‘Noles huge momentum going into the home stretch of recruiting and helped propel the FSU football to another excellent class.

I think the hype was a year early and the expectations are even greater in 2017 with multiple returning starters on both sides of the ball.

We’ve looked at how the defense and offense could be elite this season.

However, there are some players with the potential to outperform expectations for them going into the season.

We want to profile the top five dark horse players that could be impactful in 2017. Keep in mind I didn’t want to go with the usual suspects like George Campbell.
