FSU football was a bit unlucky last season with injuries to some key players. Here’s five players FSU can’t afford to lose in 2017.

FSU football recruits at an elite level to create depth, but sometimes elite recruiting can’t overcome the injury bug.

FSU dealt with a number of injury situations in 2016. Deondre Francois was banged up all season, but played because he’s as tough as they come. Derwin James missed relatively all season with a torn meniscus.

Derrrick Nnadi and Josh Sweat dealt with injuries during the season that impacted their play at times. Nate Andrews was lost for the season against Miami with converted safety Ermon Lane filling in admirably.

The offensive line was banged up much of the year too. All in all, FSU did a good job of overcoming the injuries but still underachieved compared to expectations.

One positive is those players have valuable snaps under their belt which has improved depth a ton. Hopefully the injury bug stays away this season, but here’s five players the ‘Noles can’t afford to lose.
