Offense, defense, and now special teams. Lastly but certainly not least the best all-time special teams unit FSU football has had under Jimbo Fisher.
From kicker to punter and everything in between, FSU football has had some all time greats. Who are the best under Jimbo Fisher? The best are as follows:
- K – Roberto Aguayo
- P – Shawn Powell
- KS – Dustin Hopkins
- KR – Kermit Whitfield
- PR – Greg “G5” Reid
Thoughts
Roberto Aguayo was an easy choice with a total of 405 points in his career (157 in 2013). The 2013 Lou Groza winner is one of the all time greats for Florida State.

Florida State Seminoles Football
Shawn Powell was the nations best in 2010 and 2011. He might just be the best punter in FSU history, maybe behind Charlie Ward some would argue Powell had a career punting average of 44.2 yards.
As far as kickoffs, I put Dustin Hopkins in this spot. Hopkins was too good to be ignored as he was great at kicking balls near the goal line forcing teams to return.
This allowed FSU athletes to get downfield and make a play well before the 20 yard line most times which gave FSU field position advantage.
Kick return specialist goes to Kermit Whitfield as he averaged 23.9 yards per kick return for his FSU career. The 100 yard kick return in the national championship game was a major play in helping the ‘Noles win their third national title.
Finally one of the most electrifying CFB players in recent memory makes my PR slot. Greg “G5” Reid. This is one of those guys punters and kickers had to account for in-game plans.
Every time he touched the ball there was a good chance he was taking it to the house. He wasn’t too bad on the defensive side of the ball either. Just ask Marcus Lattimore.
This completes my All-Jimbo Fisher team. Be sure to check out the offensive and defensive posts if you haven’t already.
