FSU football is still in the running for five star 2018 quarterback recruit Justin Fields – and one of the top players from 2016 is working hard to get him.

With months to go until players can even think about signing a letter of intent with different colleges, FSU football is still liking their chances to land one of the top players in the 2018 class. Justin Fields, a quarterback from the state of Georgia who made everyone smile when he de-committed from Penn State, is still on the market.

The Seminoles are one of the five teams in the running for the five star recruit, joining the likes of other power schools such as Alabama, Florida and USC to name a few. Some experts think it could come down to either the Noles or Gators for his services.

One member of the FSU football family who knows what it’s like to be a sought after prospect is corner back Levonta Taylor. Ranked as the top defensive back and the No. 8 overall prospect in the 2016 class, Taylor was recruited by all the major FBS programs but chose the Seminoles early on and stuck with them – activity trying to recruit others to join him.

That spirit continues as Levonta tried to remind Fields why coming to Tallahassee would be a smart move for his football future:

There is no way you can argue the fact that head coach Jimbo Fisher has continuously sent his quarterbacks to the next level while having players like Xavier Rhodes and Jalen Ramsey, among others, further the DBU image of a Florida State program that has produced greats like Deion Sanders, Terrell Buckley and more.

Right now, the dual threat quarterback is rated the third best player in the entire class – a number that could go up after being the MVP of The Opening. 247 Sports has the Seminoles holding a slight edge over the Gators, with Georgia, Auburn and Penn State all still there in what will be a long process.
