FSU football will be in action for 12 amazing weekends during the 2017 regular season – but what are the best times to catch the pro game afterwards?

The 2017 schedule for FSU football is one that is full of Saturdays that will keep you busy watching the Seminoles march toward what we hope is a fourth national title in program history. With games against Alabama, Clemson, Miami, Florida and more, there will be hardly enough time to keep track of other sports during the fall.

Now, there are some fans of the Noles who, at the same time, have a vested interest in what takes place on Sundays during the fall – and Mondays and Thursdays at this point. The NFL kicks off five days after the Florida State season does, with the New England Patriots taking the field against the Kansas City Chiefs seven months after winning their fifth Super Bowl since 2001.

Of all the weekends this fall where the Seminoles are in action, which are the best ones for fans of FSU football to catch a double header with the NFL? Here’s a look at the best games each weekend within a four hour drive of where the Noles are playing (or, in the case of home games, NFL games played in Florida)

Florida State Seminoles Football

September 16 – Miami at Florida State

Best NFL Game: Green Bay at Atlanta (8:30 p.m.)

With the Seminoles and Hurricanes likely battling until close to midnight (and the partying likely to go on well after that), the only other game within the restrictions we’ve placed – a 1 p.m. kickoff between Tennessee and Jacksonville –  is no where even close to an option. So, enjoy a brunch and head out in the afternoon for this NFC Championship Game rematch.

October 14 – Florida State at Duke

Best NFL Game: Philadelphia at Carolina (Thursday at 8:25 p.m.)

The weekend has some pretty slim pickings for those trying to do a double dip, so your best bet is to actually get up to the Tar Heel State a little early (if you’re not already there) and get to watch some pro action as your appetizer for FSU football’s appearance inside Wallace Wade Stadium for the first time since 2011.

October 27 (Friday) – Florida State at Boston College

Best NFL Game: Los Angeles Chargers at New England (1 p.m.)

Once again, the Seminoles and Eagles will kick off at the same time high school teams are playing. After watching what should likely be a Florida State victory, stay for a few days…do some sight seeing, and then watch the Patriots likely destroy the new team from the City of Angels. Or, you could make the drive down to New Jersey and watch Atlanta face the New York Jets.

November 4 – Syracuse at Florida State

Best NFL Game: Oakland at Miami (8:30 p.m.)

Those who attend FSU football games – including those who made this trip along the Florida Turnpike while going to school – know how long the trek from Tallahassee to South Florida can be. Luckily, the folks at NBC helped out by having this game – which should feature a half dozen former Noles and a Radiers team that could be Super Bowl bound – at night so fans can get there.

November 11 – Florida State at Clemson

Best NFL Game: Dallas at Atlanta (4:25 p.m.)

IF both teams are still undefeated or at least in the ACC and Playoff hunt, the Seminoles and Tigers will be the night game without question. Because of that, you need a game with a later starting time – enter America’s team taking on Devonta Freeman and the defending NFC champs. If you’re staying for a while, you could check out Miami at Carolina the following night in Charlotte.
