FSU Football: Could offensive line play influence quarterback recruiting?
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football will look to land a game changer at QB this recruiting cycle. Will offensive play in 2017 influence who FSU is able to sign?
The FSU football offensive wasn’t very good for parts of the 2016. They did well with run blocking, but pass blocking left a lot to be desired as the ‘Noles were No. 108 in sacked allowed.
Now, all of the blame can’t be placed on the offensive line, Deondre Francois held the ball too long at times too.
However, no matter who you place the blame on, the perception is Francois got destroyed during his redshirt freshman campaign.
Deondre Francois was praised for his toughness, leaving multiple games after massive hits and coming back in the same game to perform.

Will opposing coaches use this against FSU and Jimbo Fisher on the recruiting trail? Will recruits watch film of Francois taking massive hits and conclude they want to experience that?
Fisher can explain to a recruit why Francois took so many hits, but those explanations aren’t a good look if Fisher points out Francois was part of the problem.
How the offensive line plays will be extremely important in 2018, for the success of the team and perception of playing quarterback with FSU football could get you seriously injured.
Hopefully Fisher will get the likes of Justin Fields and Jace Ruder on campus.
Jimbo Fisher will be hosting his football camps later this month. High school players camp from June 14th-16th with seven on seven on June 17th.

His July camp will take place on July 19th-21st. It’ll be interesting to see if he can get any of the top players to camp (he usually does) as he generally likes to see guys throw in person to zero in on who he wants to personally target.
Hopefully the ‘Noles can get some top targets to attend, and commit to build recruiting momentum leading into the season.
