FSU football will be in the national spotlight early this season with two games – Alabama and Miami – confirmed to be on national TV in primetime.

Heading into the 2017 football season, there is no doubt that FSU football will take part in their share of marquee games. From the opener against Alabama to conference games with Clemson and Louisville along with the interstate showdowns with Miami and Florida, the Seminoles are looking to be in the spotlight plenty this coming season.

For now, we know that at least two of those games will be getting the main event treatment for Florida State. The ACC announced on Thursday six games in the first three weeks of the season that will be played on national television involving league teams on either ESPN and ABC. As expected, both the games against the Crimson Tide and Hurricanes are in that group:

"Saturday, Sept. 2Kent State at Clemson, ESPN, NoonNC State vs. South Carolina, ESPN, 3 p.m. (Charlotte, N.C.)Florida State vs. Alabama, ABC, 8 p.m. (Atlanta, Ga.)Sunday, Sept. 3West Virginia vs. Virginia Tech, ABC, 7:30 p.m. (Landover, Md.)Monday, Sept. 4Tennessee vs. Georgia Tech, ESPN, 8 p.m. (Atlanta, Ga.)Saturday, Sept. 16Miami at Florida State, ABC, 8 p.m."

The Alabama game was not a surprise as it could be the biggest opening week game of all time – with both teams likely to head into the game No. 1 and No. 2 in the country – as ESPN’s College GameDay will also be there, which usually is an indication of what the ABC national game will be.

The Miami game was expected to get that spot as well, since both teams will be the favorite to win their respective divisions in the ACC this season. It also has been, no matter the records or rankings, one of the most watched games each season – with seven of the last eight games being in prime time and on national television, including the last five in a row.
