FSU football will field one of the most talented rosters in college football. Several ‘Noles listed in top 100 college players list.

FSU football continues to recruit at an elite level under Jimbo Fisher, and that’s why he’s had more players drafted in the first seven years than any active football coach.

That’s also why Chad Reuter of NFL.com listed several FSU football players his top college players list.

The ‘Noles are stacked on defense and have some talented young players on offense. Who’s ranked where?

Rankings

"5. Derwin James, S, Florida State: James was injured two games into last season, but will be full throttle in 2017. The tall, long safety is a secure tackler against the run and has the ball skills to create turnovers in coverage.17. Tarvarus McFadden, CB, Florida State: Tall with wiry strength, McFadden catches the ball if it’s anywhere near his hands; his eight interceptions tied for the FBS lead last season.47. Deondre Francois, QB, Florida State: As a redshirt freshman, Francois had his ups and downs. The Seminoles are banking on his ability to smooth out the ride in 2017, using his mobility and live arm to challenge for an ACC title.66. Josh Sweat, DE, Florida State"

That’s four players in the top 70 in all of college football. Pretty impressive stuff for FSU. The following players were listed as well with Nnadi arguably deserving to be higher.

"121. Jacques Patrick, RB, Florida State146. Derrick Nnadi, DT, Florida State"

I’m not sure Jacques Patrick deserves to be listed as he has played in very limited duty behind Dalvin Cook the past two seasons. He has played well in limited action, so his listing could be based more on potential than anything.

The FSU defense should dominate this year, and that’s why four of the six players listed are from the defensive side of the ball.
