FSU football is a favorite of gamblers to bet on because they’re a popular team with a national brand. Oddsmakers like FSU a lot in 2017 to win it all.

Almost a year ago today we wrote about FSU Football and their odds of winning the 2016 National Title. The ‘Noles were in what I call the second tier of teams with the best odds to win it all last season.

Of course they fell short, losing three games with two of the losses by a combined five points. One of those games was against the eventual National Champion Clemson who needed help from the referees to get the win.

Nevertheless, it’s a new season and the ‘Noles are again one of the odds on favorites to win a National Championship. However, this season the odds are much more in their favor.

Last season, FSU football were +1600 futures bet to win it all. If you had bet $100 on FSU football, you would have won $1,600 if they would have won the National Championship.

This Season

According to Sportsbook.ag, the ‘Noles are +750 to win the National Championship for the 2017 season. If you bet $100 on FSU football, you’d win $750.

By contrast, Alabama was +700 last season to win it all and played Clemson in the title game who were +750 to become champs.

This season, Alabama is +375 to win, and Ohio State is +550 with FSU and USC both at +750.

FSU and Alabama open up the 2017 season against one another in Atlanta. That’s an advantage to both teams as whoever loses have all season to climb back up in the rankings, as both will likely be top three teams in the preseason.

So oddsmakers like FSU football a lot better than this time last season. They also like Alabama a lot better too, but again with both teams playing one another so early it increases their odds to overcome the loss.
