FSU football is getting some serious love to be playing in Atlanta twice this season – both times against Alabama with the second being for a championship.

Five months from this coming Sunday, FSU football will be kicking off their 2017 season inside the brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia – taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide in what many experts think will be the biggest opening game to a season in recent history.

According to one major super book in Las Vegas (now that they are done celebrating the eventual move of the Raiders to their city), the two teams will see a lot of each other next season as they will play just over three months later for a national championship.

Westgate Las Vegas released their latest updated odds for the 2017 season – and the Seminoles find themselves still in the drivers seat for a spot in the College Football Playoff and a potential rematch with the Crimson Tide on January 8, 2018:

While Alabama’s odds got slightly worse (in essence going from 3/1 to 3.5/1), FSU football saw their odds get slightly better from the first ones released on the night of the national championship game. At the same time, Ohio State and USC joined both schools as the four teams with the best odds at this point – a damn good group of teams that could possibly end up facing off in the playoff system.

Several prominent foes for the Seminoles this season saw their odds get worse, including Louisville (10/1 to 15/1), Florida (40/1 to 50/1) and Miami taking a big drop (30/1 to 80/1). The reigning national champs, Clemson, got a slight bump up in their odds (20/1 to 15/1).

If this holds true and FSU football faces Alabama twice this season, both schools would continue being the recent programs playing a rematch for the national title. In the 2011 season, the Crimson Tide lost to LSU in the regular season, then shut out the Tigers for the national title. In 1996, the Seminoles beat the Florida Gators in the regular season before playing again in the Sugar Bowl.
