FSU basketball is having one of its best seasons in some time. They beaten a lot of good teams this season as well.

FSU basketball has been a tale of two teams. They’ve had stretches where they have looked like National Title contenders, and then they’ve lost to Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh by double digits.

The ‘Noles are currently ranked No. 19 in the nation with a game against a very underrated Clemson team on deck Saturday. FSU beat this same Clemson team by 49 points earlier this year.

However, 10 of their 13 losses have come by SIX points or less this season. This FSU team is legit as they are tied with Villanova and Butler for the most wins over top 25 teams in the nation.

The six wins:

  • No. 21 Florida
  • No.12 Virginia
  • No. 21 Virginia Tech
  • No. 7 Duke
  • No. 15 Notre Dame
  • No. 12 Louisville

All of those teams are still in the top 25 except Virginia Tech.

FSU basketball is currently a No. 2 seed in USA Today’s latest Bracketology release. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi currently has them as a No. 3 seed in his latest Bracketology update.

The ‘Noles have games remaining against No. 10 Duke and Miami who will both likely make the NCAA Tournament.

Villanova has one regular season game remaining against No. 23 Creighton who they defeated earlier in the season. Butler doesn’t have any games remaining against ranked opponents.

Of course FSU defeated both Duke and Miami by double digits in their previous encounters. The Duke game was in Tally, so that means the ‘Noles will have to win on the road in Cameron Indoor.

Five of FSU’s six losses have come on the road this season, and lost by 15 points last season when they traveled to Durham.
