By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football recruiting finished with a great 2017. Now the ‘Noles staff is already on the trails for 2018 with several new offers.
The FSU football staff brought in a 2017 class full of high-end talent and players with a ton of potential.
There are some needs in the 2018 class, and the ‘Noles are already looking to address those needs. Currently the 2018 recruiting class is No. 2 in the nation with six commits consisting of four 4-stars and two 3-stars:
- James Cook, 4-star RB
- Justin Watkins, 4-star Athlete
- Robert Cooper, 4-star DT
- Isaiah Bolden, 4-star CB
- Christian Meadows, 3-star OT
- Charles Strong, 3-star RB
Two areas of need are wide receiver and linebacker after the ‘Noles missed on two big targets on National Signing Day.
The Offers
Bush is currently a three-star recruit ranked as the No. 484 overall player and No. 76 wide receiver. He’s from Schertz, Texas, and is being recruited by none other than Tim Brewster.
It’s clear FSU is trying to develop that Texas pipeline with Dontavious Jackson and Marvin Wilson coming to FSU football over the past two years.
Bush is 6′ 4.5 and near 190 pounds and currently holds offers from Arizona, Baylor, Colorado State and Illinois State.
Hollifield is a four-star recruit ranked as the No. 117 overall player and the No. 3 inside linebacker. He’s from Shelby, North Carolina, which isn’t far from Concord, NC, where FSU just pulled Hamsah Nasirildeen.
Hollifield holds offers from the likes of UNC, South Carolina, Alabama, Clemson, LSU, and Tennessee among others.
The ‘Noles have also offered another defensive tackle::
Johnson is currently isn’t ranked yet and hails from Brookhaven, Mississippi. Guess who else is from the Sip? New five-star signee running back Cam Akers. Jeffrey Johnson is 6’3 312 pounds and FSU is the first school to offer.
