Cameron Erving

Cam Erving came to FSU football as a three-star defensive tackle in the 2010 recruiting class. He promptly got injured and received a medical redshirt before returning to the lineup to play in all 13 games in a reserve role.

Then the Jimbo Fisher special happened when Erving moved to the offensive side of the ball during his junior year.

A move that ultimately could have been one of the most important developments for the 2013 team. Erving protected redshirt freshman Jameis Winston and helped the aforementioned Devonta Freeman become the first 1,000 yard rusher since Warrick Dunn.

Erving was even more impactful in 2014 when he moved from left tackle to the center position when Austin Barron was injured. The move likely helped FSU football go undefeated and make the inaugural four team playoff.
