FSU Softball Advances To 2016 Women’s College World Series

FSU softball took care of Utah in the second game of the Super Regional to advance to their second WCWS in the last three seasons.

After watching last year’s Women’s College World Series from home, FSU Softball will be back in Oklahoma City as part of the eight team field after winning Game Two of their Super Regional against the Utah Utes, 3-0.

The Lady ‘Noles got on the board when Jessica Warren took a third inning pitch deep and out of the park:

FSU softball would use their defense to keep the Utes off the scoreboard with a multitude of double plays:

The Lady ‘Noles would then add one run in the top of the seventh before punching their ticket for OKC in the bottom of the inning in a familiar way:

FSU softball will be making their ninth all-time appearance in the WCWS, but just their third in just over the last two decades (1987, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 2002, 2004, 2014 and 2016). The eighth nationally seeded Lady ‘Noles will face the Georgia Bulldogs (who defeated the top seed and back-to-back national champion Florida Gators) in their WCWS opener.
