FSU Sports: What Would An All-Florida Conference Mean For The Noles?
By Jason Parker
Football in the Sunshine State
By having 12 teams, the Florida Sun Conference would be able to have a sanctioned championship game at the end of each regular season, likely to be played either in Orlando or Tampa. The schools will play a eight game conference schedule (five against their division, one permanent game and two revolving against the other division).
The breakdown of the rivalry games that will be played each season are as follows:
FSU vs. Miami
Florida vs. UCF
USF vs. FIU
FAMU vs. Bethune-Cookman
Jacksonville vs. FAU
West Florida vs. Stetson
As for who would be the favorites if this conference started in 2016, you would think that FSU would have a tough road as they play the three other best teams in the state at this point (Florida, Miami and USF) under this format. Still, the Seminoles would be able to get through and likely have a rematch against the Hurricanes, who are in a South Division with plenty or rebuilding programs.
