FSU Football: Quarterback Thoughts Post-Spring Game
By Kelvin Hunt
Conclusion
Who’s the No. 1 Quarterback? Jimbo Fisher isn’t going to show his hand right now. He has an experienced quarterback in Sean Maguire and two young but talented quarterbacks in Francois and Henry. We spoke on Cosentino enough.
Maguire can be prone to turnovers too, as evident in the bowl game where he threw four interceptions. However, he was playing on one leg, so that has to count for something too right?
Don’t forget the Clemson game in 2014 where he turned the ball over, granted it was his first career start on like 12 hours notice.
Francois will likely turn the ball over as a young quarterback, but the chemistry he has with some of the receivers is evident. His ability to use his legs to create is evident, and gives opposing defenses something else to think about.
Malik Henry’s poise excites me. It really comes down to how much can he digest as a young quarterback and could he stay healthy the entire season because of his lack of size?

We’ve seen that Jimbo is unafraid to go with a young quarterback in the past. Remember Christian Ponder playing over Drew Weatherford or starting Jameis Winston as a redshirt freshman?
It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out, but again, it’s a great problem for FSU football to have?
