FSU football will look to name a starter at quarterback this fall. Let’s take a look at the quarterbacks post-spring game to see where we stand.

FSU football has a good problem on its hands with the quarterback situation. There’s Sean Maguire who has valuable experience has a starter who helped lead FSU to a (10-3) record in a “rebuilding” year.

Of course, Maguire missed all of spring practice with an ankle injury, but could be ready to go when June or July rolls around by various reports.

There’s JJ Cosentino who’s a redshirt sophomore.

There’s Deondre Francois who’s a redshirt freshman that showed flashes of what he could become in the spring game on Saturday.

Finally, there’s true freshman Malik Henry who enrolled early this January who also showed flashes of what he could become on Saturday.

I wrote last month that Sean Maguire should be the starter for FSU against Ole Miss provided he makes a full recovery from the injury.

However, I wrote that with what I knew at the time while also using some general assumptions on where I thought the younger quarterbacks would be come this fall.

I know more now that the young quarterbacks performed during the spring game. Granted, it’s a small sample size but it’s enough to make an informed opinion.

Let’s go.
