What a season for UNC in 2015. They dropped their opener against USCe in a game where they should have won by two touchdowns.

Then proceed to win every game after that until they faced Clemson in the ACC Championship game. They gave Clemson all they could handle, and got hosed on a offside kick that sealed their fate.

The weak part of that team, though much improved, was the defense as they couldn’t stop Baylor in the bowl game to finish 11-3.

UNC loses some weapons, notably record-setting quarterback Marquise Williams and Quinshad Davis. However, new quarterback Mitch Trubisky saw action last season and has loads of potential and will have senior Mack Hollins returning who led the team in touchdown receptions last season with eight.

Elijah Hood is a dangerous running back that will play on Sunday’s and Ryan Switzer is lethal in the return game.

UNC’s offense have always put up points under coach Larry Fedora, but they will be facing a stout defense in FSU.

It will be Gene Chizik’s second year as defensive coordinator. The defense made strides in 2015, but still has holes and lacks the overall talent that FSU has at its disposal.

UNC opens up with Georgia, Illinois, James Madison and Pittsburgh before traveling to Tally.

UNC defeated FSU 37-35 last time these two teams met in 2010. FSU kicker Dustin Hopkins missed a 40 yard field goal with seven seconds remaining in the game. Payback time.
