National Signing Day: Position Grades
Wide Receiver
The ‘Noles landed arguably the top WR group in the country this year, securing George Campbell, De’Vante Phillips, Auden Tate and Nyqwan Murray.
George Campbell – Campbell is an athletic freak. Standing at 6’3″ and weighing 183 lbs. with the frame to get bigger, Campbell is still able to run a 4.3 40 yard dash. That rare combination of size and speed is going to be tough for opposing teams to match up against.
De’Vante Phillips – Phillips is a decent sized, physical receiver who goes up and uses his strong hands to get the ball. He makes difficult catch time after time in his highlight films.
Auden Tate – Standing 6′ 4″ tall and weighing 215 lbs., Tate is a very physical, big-bodied receiver who can really go up and fight for the ball. He also has the versatility to line-up in TE sets and excel. Tate flashes excellent hands as well, catching everything in his range
Nyqwan Murray – Murray plays much bigger than his size. He is very shifty and agile on his feet, and while he doesn’t have elite track speed, he’s still quick enough to break open some plays. He reminds me a lot of Kenny Shaw and Bobo Wilson. His future will definitely be in the slot.
Grade – A+. At times last year it was apparent that the ‘Noles lacked some physicality. The staff made that a point in the cycle and landed 4 very talented receivers.
