What to Watch For: FSU at Louisville

1.) Field Goals, not Touchdowns
A few weeks ago Jimbo Fisher began to laud his team’s ability to play situational football– specifically, that it’s been very good in the redzone on defense.
Tonight that’s going to be crucial.
Florida State is going to give up yardage. The Cardinals will be able to run some and Devante Parker is a great receiver who is going to find ways to get open. But if Florida State can buckle down inside the 20’s and keep Louisville from turning its drives into touchdowns that’s going to go a long way.
FSU doesn’t have to stop the Louisville run game in its tracks, it doesn’t have to completely shut the Cardinals down through the air, either– the Seminoles just need to make sure that Louisville’s drives don’t end in touchdowns.
Louisville is a great defense but Winston and the offense will get their’s, FSU’s defense just needs to keep the Cardinals settling for three and FSU should be able to escape the bluegrass state with the W.
