Karlos Williams Arrives
FSU’s run game had churned out just 16 yards in the first half, but when FSU needed it in the second half– Karlos Williams answered the call.
Williams racked up 126 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries. But more importantly, he finally looked like the dynamic player that people expected before the season started.
“We did nothing different [in the second half],” said Williams. “We started playing football. We calmed down, slowed the game down, executed plays that we knew we could execute and it turned into big plays for us.”
Who knows if this will actually be a breakthrough for the FSU run game moving forward. But for a half, it did look like FSU’s rushing attack had arrived. Williams, in particular, displayed much better vision as he hammered away at NC State’s defense down the stretch.
The 126 yards was a career-high for Williams and put him over the 1,000 yards mark for his career– he became the 41st Seminole to reach that mark.
