AT Miami – November 15th
2013 Record: 9-4
Returning Starters: 6 on offense, 7 on defense
The ‘Noles will travel to Doak South for their annual match-up with the Hurricanes, and will be shooting for their fifth straight win in the series. Miami has improved every year under fourth year head coach Al Golden, and while it’s possible they continue that trend, they still have some big questions. There is some uncertainty at the QB position, as Senior Ryan Williams tore his ACL in the spring and left the ‘Canes without a clear answer. Whoever is taking the snaps will have an abundance of talent around him though, as the ‘Canes skill positions are loaded. The offense will really give the ‘Noles a challenge, as the ‘Canes can run the ball effeciently, and spread the ball around to their fast receivers.
The key for the ‘Canes will be if the defense finally steps up and helps the offense. Improvement is expected though, for a team that returns 7 starters on defense. Denzel Perryman is the best player on defense and makes and impact all over the field. The secondary is pretty solid as well, as the ‘Canes return Tracy Howard, Ladarius Gunter, and Deon Bush. If Miami can improve along the defensive line, the defense will be much better.
