Since claiming Florida State’s third national championship in January, head coach Jimbo Fisher has been consistently claiming that FSU is not a “defending” champ. After all, per Fisher, “when you get defensive, you get apprehensive.” 2013 is in the books, and the FSU hardware isn’t going anywhere. The Seminoles don’t appear to be budging either, garnering 56 of 62 first-place votes to top this season’s first Coaches Poll, released yesterday.
Fisher remade himself in the off-season, losing 35-40 pounds, and fall camp turns his attention to the revamping to be done on the football field. Critical to building another champion are the rookies, first-year talent capable of stepping on the field and helping Florida State to its fourth national championship.
Fall camp begins Monday, and several newcomers to FSU will be pushing for playing time. Here are five to keep your eye on–click the arrows at the top of the page or use the “right” and “left” keys on your keyboard.
