2 Saturdays away from FSU football's season opener versus the Alabama Crimson Tide

It is almost time for Florida State football.

FSU FOOTBALL SEASON OPENER

The college football season is almost here. It is like Christmas morning for many individuals who love the sport. It gets even better for the Seminole faithful as they welcome the Alabama Crimson Tide into Tallahassee on Saturday, August 30th at 3:30 PM EST.

Florida State football will attempt to turn the page on what was an embarrassing showing in 2024, where they had a 2-10 record. This wasn't the standard at this prestigious university, but it happened, so the program will have to do everything it can to correct it.

Two Saturdays until Florida State football doesn't sound so bad now because in one week we will have the Week 0 contest in Dublin, Ireland (I hope fans don't get PTSD). Then, it will be game week, where we know who will be on the depth chart.

Since no one wears the No. 2 jersey on the Seminoles' jersey on the Seminoles' roster, I want to highlight former defensive back Deion Sanders.

DEION SANDERS

Prime Time was a sensational piece of the Seminoles' history. I know that some of the fan base showcase hate towards him since he never mentions Florida State anymore. However, he is a grown adult who is in charge of leading Colorado back to stability again.

When you think of the Seminoles being "DBU", Sanders should be the first defensive back that you think of. During his time from 1985 to 1989, he recorded 14 career interceptions in the Garnet and Gold and struck fear in opposing offenses. He set the standard of what it meant to be a Florida State defensive back.

Overall, Prime Time is a great Seminole that should be celebrated for his accomplishments, and that is exactly what I am doing in this piece.
