FSU football has found some nice recruiting momentum at the end of May. However, when campus visits are allowed again, they’ll be telling where the Noles stand with some recruits.

FSU football fans were starting to get restless with recruiting as the Noles hadn’t landed any 2021 commits since April 13 when the month of May began.

Here we are at the end of May, and the Noles have added four new 2021 commits while managing to sign a 2020 defensive tackle transfer in Fabien Lovett.

Lovett meets a major need in the trenches, but the staff still needs to address that position and the offensive tackle positions.

FSU has done a good job during the shutdown of communicating with recruits and has made a ton of recruiting top lists. The question is, will they be able to land any of those players?

That’s where the campus visits come into play. Of course, the NCAA decided to extend the recruiting dead period, so no visits are allowed anytime soon, but that will likely change the closer we get to having an actual football season.

Coaches are continuing to build those relationships and working to get the players they covet most on campus when the dead period is lifted.

Mike Norvell stated they’ve had players wanting to commit but won’t accept those commits if the players haven’t visited campus or do not have a personal relationship with someone on the FSU staff.

Whoever the Noles get on campus early on will tell us a lot about where they stand with recruits. The coaching staff did a good job of getting recruits on campus before the shutdown, and I expect that to continue when things open back up.

If there are names you’ve heard as targets, and they haven’t visited FSU within the first month of things opening up? That’s likely a clear signal those players aren’t interested FSU, or they are waiting to see how they perform on the field before showing more interest in the Noles.
