FSU football got away from the fast explosive offense that made them fun to watch in the Dynasty years.

FSU football had some elite offenses under the old regime but took a nosedive last season when its starting quarterback was lost for the year in the season opener.

Certainly some regression was expected having to start a true freshman that didn’t early enroll, but to say the offense dropped off a cliff would be an understatement.

The FSU offense went from the No. 2 ranked S&P offense in 2016 to the No. 76 in 2017. FSU also had to adapt to life without Dalvin Cook, but true freshman Cam Akers broke his freshman rushing record without much of a passing game.

In short, there are a lot of areas the Noles can improve on offense moving forward. They are thin on depth at wide receiver but arguably will have the most talented group on campus in the last decade.

The question will be which receivers can step up since they only return two experienced receivers in Keith Gavin and Nyqwan Murray. The latter was injured on the first day of spring practice and will not return until this summer.

Let’s take a look at three areas the FSU offense can expect to improve in Willie Taggart’s offense.
