FSU Football: Analyzing Willie Taggart’s recruiting tendencies

FSU football has usually recruited at an elite level the past few years.

FSU football is looking to bounce back from several de-commitments during the final days of the former coach that was in Tallahassee. The ‘Noles lost seven commitments from the 2018 recruiting class which leaves 11 commits.

The good news is there’s room for 12-14 more players in the class if those spots can be filled with talented players that fit a need.

Newly crowned FSU football head coach Willie Taggart has been on the road since his first day on the job, and has gotten several committed recruits to reaffirm their commitment to the class.

Taggart’s is known for his ability to recruit. In fact, that’s all some people can say about him because they’re not familiar with his offenses or ability to adapt to personnel.

The other thing we don’t know is what type of recruiting classes has he put together over the years? Since he was head coach at South Florida and Oregon the past two years, we wanted to go back and find that information out.

The former coach put together elite classes, and for an offensive minded coach usually had a slight lean towards defensive players when it came to raw numbers. Let’s check in and see what Taggart did while at USF.
