FSU football has always been the underdog for their opener against Alabama – but one sportsbook seems to have increased their lack of faith in the Noles.

It wasn’t long after the 2016 college football season came to an end that our friends out in Las Vegas decided to start laying down lines – for entertainment purposed only…maybe – for everything in the 2017 season from Heisman Trophy odds to who will be the favorite for opening games this season, especially the anticipated battle between FSU football and Alabama.

The entire time, the Seminoles have been looking up at the Crimson Tide when it comes to being the underdog for their September 2nd game in Atlanta. Some sportsbooks started things off with Alabama being a three point favorite in the game – which for those who partake in this sort of thing know essentially means the game is a coin flip.

In the months since, as we get closer to the season, the line has increased from some Vegas outlets – including one who now thinks Roll Tide Roll has a more comfortable chance of claiming a week one win:

Of course this is something that fans of FSU football are going to balk at, but you can see where Las Vegas is coming from on this one. The Crimson Tide are coming off a national championship game appearance for the second straight year, while the Noles finished 10-3 in a season where they were a CFB Playoff contender.

Alabama is going to, once again, be the favorite for those who really don’t know much about football since they have been arguably the best team in the sport over the last decade. At the same time, doing this could just be a move by Vegas to get a little more $$$ action on the game since there is almost no way this game will be decided by more than seven points – and people will take FSU football and these odds knowing that the Seminoles will either keep it close or win outright.

So, don’t read too much into it fellow Noles – Florida State will be just fine come September and may actually go out of their way to help make some people in the desert very happy when it’s all said and done.
