The ‘Noles returned to the practice fields Monday after a long hiatus with spring break. Jimbo Fisher said he was pleased with the effort, but some of the play was sloppy due to the long break.

Check out Fisher’s interview in the player below:

Thoughts

It’s great that Fisher is emphasizing that effort has been great thus far. That was one of the downfalls of the 2016 team as certain players were not giving full effort during games.

I guess the orange jerseys are effective even though we don’t know how many players are actually donning them during practice.

Fisher mentions they worked on a lot of red zone stuff Monday. That’s an area the ‘Noles improved greatly in last season compared to 2015. It was all new stuff, which was another reason why play was expected to be sloppy along with new players being on the field.

He also talks about the linebackers corps, mentions that JUCO transfer Adonis Thomas is coming along nicely because the defensive scheme is similar to what he came from.

The first scrimmage will take place next Monday, March 20. It’ll be interesting to see who begins to emerge in the secondary and on the offensive line. How much will the young running backs be on the field, and which linebackers begin to emerge.

FSU football has a good mixture of experienced upperclassman and young players that saw the field last year as freshmen.
