FSU football looks to be the odds on favorite to carry the ACC banner in 2017. We look at 5 reasons the conference could go back to mediocrity next season.

The 2016 season was the year of the ACC Football Conference. The ACC had SIX teams to win nine games or more in 2016. The SEC had three teams to win nine games or more.

The ACC only had three teams with less than .500 records overall. It went 10-4 against the SEC in 2016 and had the best bowl season of any conference by far at 9-3.

Did I mention the conference brought home its second National Title in four years when Clemson beat the almighty Alabama Crimson Tide Monday night?

The conference seemed to finally gain some respect after years on wallowing in mediocrity. However, due to the departure of several key players the conference could go right back there in 2017.
