FSU football will host the high-powered offense of the UNC Tarheels on Saturday in Doak Campbell Stadium. How are UNC fans feeling bout this game?

The ‘Noles opened up as -12 point favorites over the Tarheels on Sunday. A surprisingly high number given FSU’s defensive woes and the UNC offense averaging over seven yards per play.

Granted, UNC has not played any teams close to the caliber of those on the ‘Noles schedule.

That’s still a pretty lofty number to cover for a team that’s been Jekyll and Hyde on defense.

The Heels defeated FSU football the last time the two teams met in 2010. UNC took a 37-35 win as Dustin Hopkins missed a 40 yard field goal to win as time expired.

FSU gave up 463 passing yards against UNC that night against TJ Yates, and the way the FSU secondary has looked it could do that again on Saturday.

However, UNC fans don’t seem to share those sentiments. There seems to be zero belief that they can pull the upset among their fans. Check out some of their comments from a UNC message board below:

"Our offense can keep it close if there aren’t poor play calls. FSU’s defense gave up 62 to Louisville and 35 to lowly USF. I don’t really have any confidence in our defense though."

"FSU in a rout. At least 2 TD’s."

"^^I fear this could be correct"

"Hope the HEELS prove me wrong, but I have to agree with you."

"would love to say that our victory over the weekend has me convinced that we are a good team and going on a roll but up until the last 5:00 minutes of the game we really did not look consistently good on offense.  We had to many negative yardage plays that killed drives and the defense was getting rolled and burned play after play until the 4th quarter when Pitt went conservative and allowed our defense to gain some confidence.  I still think if our offense can get in a rhythm and avoid bad penalties/negative yard plays then we can stay in the game, I just am not sure if we can stop FSU especially running with Cook and their athletes.PredictionFSU 48UNC 38"

"First team to 40 points wins the game."

"56-42 noles"

"Opening line is FSU -12No Bueno"

"After watching UGA the last three games, I have to have some doubt about UNC."

"FSU defense got has been throttled early. However, I’m not sure anyone can stop Louisville, and usf averaged nearly 500 yards a game last season. They can score on anyone.I think Fsu plays their best game defensively against UNC.UNC 20Fsu 38"

"Them 45Us 24"

"Dalvin Cook is the best back we’ve faced so far. I fear he may end up with 300+ all purpose yards.FSU  42Heels 28"

"I am guessing 42-28 or 45-31 for Florida State University.  The Heels will make it interesting but won’t be able to stop Cook enough to win."

"I really think the heels have a shot at winning this game … I wish we would give the ball to our Offense instead of deferring …. I think it would take the pressure off our O and D … Maybe I am wrong ….."

"Going to need a +3 turnover day (or several big special team plays) in order to win in a shoot out"

"Noles not lost at home since 2012 – took at 37-26 L to 6 rated gators in November – noles ranked 10Home losses prior th that were 2 in 2011 – 1st L was to #1 rated Sooners 23-13 in sept when noles held #5 rating and then late in season to UVa 14-13 when noles rated #23 and Hoos not ratedPrior home loss to this is Heels beating #24 rated noles 37-35 in November 2010 under butch – Guess that means it can be doneHow about 48-38. Sad to say it will likely be noles with jimbo knowing how to hand ball off to cook with repetion. Game not likely as close as score shows with Heels posting last 10-14 points.Be tickled Tar Heel Blue to be wrong. Will be bigger believer when Heels jump out of gate at beginning of a season and beat reams like USC and UGA."

"Gonna be tough to get the W but it could happen. We have to have penalties, play D from the jump and somehow shut them down…"

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen this before, fans of a team with a high-powered offense just basically saying they have no shot. Granted, they’ve probably watched more UNC football this season than I.

However, we’ve seen the FSU football defense give up explosive play after explosive play through four games. Something’s got to give on Saturday afternoon. Either the FSU defense steps up finally and plays their best football of the year, or it’ll be another shootout.
