AT Oklahoma State (Neutral Site) – August 30th

2013 Record: 10-3

Returning Starters: 6 on offense, 4 on defense

At first, this looks like a real step-up in out-of-conference competetion compared to recent years, but Oklahoma State returns just 10 starters and lost 29 seniors off a team that won 10 games in 2013. Head Coach Mike Gundy has yet to name a starter at QB, but it’s very likely that it will be J.W. Walsh (1,333 yards, 9 Tds in 2013). Whoever the wins the QB job will be supported by a powerful running back in Desmond Roland who ran for 811 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. They must replace four of their top receivers, however incoming JUCO transfer Tyreek Hill should help in that department. Hill has the ability to be either a running back or wide receiver.

Only 4 starters return from a unit that led the Big 12 in scoring defense in 2013. The defense loses their top five players in the secondary from a year ago, which could pose as a problem against the ‘Noles high-octane offense. This Oklahoma State team still features a lot of talent, but it may have a hard time in this game.
