The Florida State Seminoles added an important piece to their 2015 football recruiting class Saturday, gaining a commitment from Sh’mar Kilby-Lane of Hallandale, Florida. The 6′ 2″ 215-pound outside linebacker’s commitment came as a surprise, as he was considered to be strongly favoring the Ohio State Buckeyes. Kilby-Lane has been offered by 20 schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, and USC.
This is a nice in-state commitment for the ‘Noles at a position of need: Kilby-Lane is just the second LB commit in FSU’s now 12-player class. The timing was also opportune, as 4-star prospect Kendrick Norton decommited on Wednesday.
