FSU Players dominate 2014 Preseason All-America Teams

In the last couple days, two national publications released their 2014 football preseason All-America teams. Not surprisingly, the defending National Champion Florida State Seminoles were well represented on both squads. The Sporting News first-team includes tackle Cameron Erving, guard Tre’ Jackson, and kicker Roberto Aguayo.

The Sporting News’ second team features quarterback Jameis Winston, tight end Nick O’Leary, and kick returner Levonte Whitfield. Cornerback Ronald Darby made the third team.

The highly respected Phil Steele was even more complimentary of the ‘Noles. Erving, Jackson, and Aguayo are joined on his first team by Whitfield and O’Leary. Like The Sporting News, Steele also gave the nod to Oregon’s Marcus Mariota (his Heisman pick) over Winston; the latter headlines his second team, along with receiver Rashad Greene and cornerback P.J. Williams. His fourth team includes running back Karlos Williams, guard Josue Matias, and defensive end Mario Edwards, Jr.
