Former Florida State Seminoles fullback Chad Abram has signed as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions. Abram only carried the ball seven times out of the backfield as a senior in FSU’s explosive offense that scored more points than any team in college football history. But he was very efficient, scoring on three of his nine receptions, including a touchdown in the Seminoles’ National Championship win over Auburn.
Abram is a freakish athlete who could help the Lions all over the field. He’s got size (6-0, 229), but has very good hands and is quite agile. He ran a 4.58 40 and recorded a vertical leap of 35.5″ while possessing the power to bench press 225 lbs. 21 times.
Abram’s signing means that all 13 Seminoles who declared professional intensions have either been drafted or signed as undrafted free agents with NFL teams.
