Florida State linebacker Telvin Smith won’t have to travel far to begin his professional career– a few hours on I-10 will do the trick. He’s been selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 144th of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Smith has the propensity to be an exceptional NFL player, primarily since he does everything well. Pursuit, coverage, tackling—Smith is an athletic presence who led the country’s top scoring defense in tackles last year. He stays healthy and brings great energy, but did fail his drug test at the NFL Combine.
Smith will add to the stable of ‘Nole linebackers on the Jags’ roster—Dekoda Watson and Geno Hayes are already in Jacksonville, as is former FSU cornerback Mike Harris.
