FSU cornerback Lamarcus Joyner has been picked by the St. Louis Rams in the second round of 2014 NFL Draft (41st overall). Joyner strikes some as small for an NFL DB (5-8, 184), but he’s been a remarkably durable player throughout his Florida State career: he didn’t miss a game in four years as a Seminole.
Joyner is also fearless, using his impressive hand size and wingspan to break-up passes and cause fumbles. He hits big, too—his 5.5 sacks were tops among DBs nationwide. Joyner is also an exceptional return man.
But above all else, the Rams are getting an undisputed leader in Joyner; he’ll be an invaluable teammate and clubhouse guy in St. Louis, where he’ll join former ‘Nole Greg Reid, whom the Rams recently signed as a free agent.
