A new era is set to begin with regard to the popular iconography of Florida State University and, specifically, its defending national champion football team. Images of the Seminoles’ new logo, helmets, and uniforms will be released to the press at 6:30 pm on Friday.
The live unveiling of what FSU has dubbed the “Ignition…Tradition” campaign will take place downtown as part of the weekend’s spring game festivities. Kleman Plaza, at the corner of Duval and Jefferson, will host the event– the presentation will occur near the entrance to the Kleman Plaza parking deck. Representatives from both Florida State and Nike will be present.
The logo leaked about a week ago after being discovered on merchandise at a Walmart and has since made its way across the internet. Earlier today, ChopChat broke its first appearance in Doak Campbell Stadium, as it adorns the entrance the Marching Chiefs use to take Bobby Bowden Field (a version of the tweet is included below). There remains, however, much speculation about the revamped helmets and uniforms.
FSU’s spring game occurs on Saturday at 3 pm in Doak Campbell Stadium.
