Bad news out of Tallahassee, earlier today at Florida State’s Pro Day Jimbo Fisher told reporters that running back Dalvin Cook will miss Spring practice after suffering a freak should injury in the Florida State weight room.
“Dalvin will be out for the spring,” said Florida State’s fifth year head coach. “He actually stumbled on a step and had it repaired, so he’ll be good.”
After stumbling on the stairs in the Seminole weight room apparently Cook braced himself for the fall and landed awkwardly, tearing his Labrum in the process.
This is a heck of a setback for a kid who gave up the last half of his senior year of high school to move to Tallahassee and enroll early at Florida State. The former five-star recruit from Miami Central will still be able to attend meetings and be on the field to observe practice and take mental reps, but it has to be disappointing for him that he won’t get a chance to actually enter the fray at running back.
Florida State still has Karlos Williams, Ryan Green and Mario Pender in the mix for Spring ball, which begins in earnest tomorrow.
