It’s Monday, when the major polling services that weigh in on college baseball’s top teams update their rankings. The first of those rankings has been released, and it has the Florida State Seminoles at the top of the list.
PerfectGame.org has moved FSU up from No. 2 to No. 1 in its poll after the ‘Noles sweep of previous No. 6 NC State this weekend. Florida State, which had been ranked second, surpassed ACC foe Virginia, which slid to No. 3. South Carolina is the new No. 2. FSU also tops the USA Today Coaches’ Poll, as well as the NCBWA poll.
Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball also updated their polls, keeping FSU at No. 2 behind the Gamecocks.
The Seminoles, who now boast a 17-2 record and are 5-1 in conference play, travel to Gainesville to take on the unranked Florida Gators on Tuesday. This weekend they’ll play their first ACC road battle, heading to Clemson for a three-game series against the No. 14 Tigers.
